Stonegate Group and Wolfpack Brewing Co Raised £14,000 in fundraising campaign for the Motor Neurone Disease Association

The funds were raised through sales of Second Row IPA, an IPA exclusive to Stonegate pubs, between September and November

Stonegate Group and Wolfpack Brewing Co are proud to announce that they have raised £14,000 through Second Row IPA sales, Second Row was featured in in Stonegate Managed and Pub Partner pubs from September to November including throughout the Rugby World Cup.

Stonegate and Wolfpack worked together to create Second Row, an IPA exclusive to Stonegate pubs, to raise funds and increase awareness of the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND Association), Stonegate Group’s corporate charity. Twenty pence from every pint of Second Row IPA sold was donated directly to the charity.

The name Second Row reflects that in rugby the Second Row stand together, and in this collaboration Stonegate, Wolfpack and the wider rugby community stand together to support the MND community. Second Row was widely featured on social media with many international rugby players adding their support.

Wolfpack Brewing Co, an innovative brewery co-founded by international rugby players, Chris Wyles and Alistair Hargreaves, was built upon the principles of community. Previously serving in 400 pubs across the UK, Wolfpack was delighted to extend its reach in the collaboration with Stonegate, UK’s biggest pub group.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Stonegate Group to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.” said Wolfpack Brewing Co founder Alistair Hargreave. “Thank you to everyone who bought our IPA and have helped us raise money and awareness for this very important cause.”

Stonegate Group has worked closely with the Motor Neurone Disease Association as the pub group’s corporate charity for over a year. With the support of colleagues, customers, and partner operators, Stonegate has raised over £400,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Melissa Wisdom, Chief Commercial Officer at Stonegate Group said: “We are delighted with the results of this successful collaboration with Wolfpack Brewing Co. The funds raised through this collaboration will be used for an amazing cause to raise awareness and fight against MND, a cause very dear to Stonegate Group’s heart. We would like to thank your guests who have purchased the Second Row IPA for supporting this important charity.”

Ian Gardner from the MND Association, said: “We would like to express our gratitude to Stonegate Group and Wolfpack Brewing Co for this brilliant fundraising effort. Sadly, six people in the UK are diagnosed with MND every single day, and there is currently no cure or effective treatment. We’re working tirelessly to change this, and to improve access to care for people affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Thank you to everyone who bought a pint of Second Row IPA and to the companies involved for their fantastic support.”
