Savour the Season: Leading Cask Brewer in the UK Rolls Out Two Summer-Exclusive Cask Brews

Greene King Brewery is launching two new limited-edition cask beers this July, Belhaven Scorcher, and a collaboration beer with Laine Brew Co, King Mango.

Introducing the first beer collaboration between Greene King and Laine Brew Co, King Mango is a 4.3% mango pale ale. With a mixture of Mandarina, Bavaria and Cascade hops, this fruity pale ale is bursting with tropical notes of mango and passionfruit, with a background of citrus, tangerine, and grapefruit.

Based in Brighton, Laine Brew Co opened its brew-house in 2011 and now offers a core range of accessible craft beers and short run specials with the aim to delight and excite beer drinkers. The brewer currently has stockists in over 800 pubs, bars, restaurants and supermarkets across the UK and King Mango is the latest addition as a short run special with Greene King. The beer will be available for customers to order across July and August.

For those in the throes of celebrating the summer of sport, False Nine, Greene King’s football-themed cask beer, is still available to order until the end of the tournament (14th July). This is the ideal beer for customers looking to drive excitement around the tournament.

From mid-July and into August, Greene King will be launching another new beer, Belhaven Scorcher. Celebrating the brewery based in Dunbar, Belhaven Scorcher is a 3.8% bright session ale, full of citrus notes that offers a refreshing taste on warm summer days now that they have finally arrived. Dunbar is commonly known as ‘Sunny Dunny’ due to the amount of sunshine it gets, making it one of the sunniest places in Scotland, which is where the name for the beer, Scorcher, came from. The design showcases the Bridge to Nowhere in Belhaven Bay, which is located just 500 steps from the brewery.

Belhaven Brewery has been a part of Greene King since 2005, however has been brewing beer for over 300 years, and offers a range of delicious Scottish beers, including Scotland’s No.1 Ale Belhaven Best and the No.1 Scottish Stout Belhaven Black.

Greene King brewery is passionate about cask and finding ways to create a positive future for the market. From May this year, the brewer celebrated becoming the #1 cask ale brewery (MAT volume) in the UK with a market share of 13%.*
