IFBB Beer Festival proved a Sell-Out

A beer festival at Harvey’s Brewery in Lewes that gathered beers from 31 Independent Family Brewers of Britain has proved a resounding success.

The two day event was staged in the brewery’s rear yard and racking cellar. Tickets for all three sessions sold out online.

Tradition and modernity were well represented, with a diverse range of styles and iconic regional brands demonstrating the extraordinary presence that family brewers have within the brewing industry.

The event coincided with ‘Heritage Open Days’ in Lewes and this proved a fitting backdrop for a festival showcasing brewers whose ‘heritage sites’ had evolved over the centuries, maintaining traditional systems of brewing and inspiring local loyalties.

Both days of the festival included a talk by Roger Protz at the nearby John Harvey Tavern. These were free of charge, open to all and well attended.

His book ‘The Family Brewers of Britain’ was available for purchase and signed copies were much in demand.
