Certified Cider Professional (CCP) Programme

Email from Gabe Cook.

Good afternoon!

I am excited to announce the UK’s first teaching of the Certified Cider Professional (CCP) programme’s flagship training course – Level 1: Certified Cider Guide.  This is the cider equivalent (in terms of knowledge base and intention) of WSET Level 1 Award in Wines or Cicerone’s Certified Beer Server.

This course has been developed by the American Cider Association (ACA) and I am driving this programme outside of North America and Asia.  The Certified Cider Guide qualification is perfect for anyone working within the drinks industry, in hospitality or retail, or who is simply a passionate enthusiast and wishes to learn more about cider’s key fundamentals.

The topics covered include:

  • Apples, Pears and Orchards
  • Cider Production
  • Families and Flavor
  • Evaluating Cider
  • Keeping and Serving
  • Cider and Food
  • Social Responsibility

The day-long session will take place on Thursday 25th July at Brewhouse & Kitchen in Highbury, London.  The assessment is undertaken online, which can be done at the end of the training or at your own leisure (within 30 days of the 25th July).
