Application Deadline Extended: Guild Mentorship Scheme 2024

Applications for the 2024 mentorship scheme have been extended until Friday 24th May. The scheme is open to both Associate and Full members of the Guild – whether you’re a national journalist, content creator, blogger, influencer, tour host, editor, work in PR, or whatever else. Have a book pitch you want to get noticed, but don’t know where to start? Always fancied hosting a podcast channel? Or filming Instagram reels? Nothing is off limits, as long as you show passion, determination and a will to collaborate and learn.

‘Last year’s mentee, Paul Newton of Beer Prime, said: “After putting myself forward for the Guild’s Mentorship programme I was so happy to be paired with the legendary Adrian Tierney-Jones. My sessions with Adrian were incredibly helpful and got me to totally reformat the project I was working on. It is in a much better shape now, and that is down to Adrian. Thanks to everyone involved in this scheme, it is something I’d strongly recommend to anyone out there looking for help and advice.”

‘The scheme is six months long, likely starting in June, and mentees will be paired with a paid mentor from the Guild who’s best suited to help with their pitch. They should expect six virtual or in-person sessions with their mentor where the floor is open for questions – and the rest is up to them. Sounds exciting? It is. You can find the application form here, and it’ll be open until the end of April. Now is your last chance to apply!
