Accredited Beer Sommelier Lisa blogs and tweets about all things beer as The Hopflower. Particularly enthusiastic about beer as an alternative to wine with food, Lisa would love to see good beer lists in restaurants and informed food pairings on beer labelling as standard. Lisa has hosted beer and food pairing events in JD Wetherspoon pubs. A longstanding CAMRA member Lisa writes blogs for her local branch, has had articles in CAMRA’s national newspaper What’s Brewing and the London Region’s magazine London Drinker. Due to her enthusiasm for beer she was asked to review Ben McFarland’s book Boutique Beer for Time Out’s Reader’s takeover edition in 2013. Lisa collaboratively created and brewed Clarence and Fredericks Oat Milk Stout with the South London Brewery in 2013. This beer won Bromley CAMRA’s 2013 Festival Beer award and featured in JD Wetherspoons London Beer Festival 2014. Lisa’s aim is to continue raising the profile of beer and it’s virtue as the natural partner to food through her writing and event hosting.
