Signature Brew X TATE Collaboration Project – Riot Grrrl Wins Big at SIBA Business Awards

Signature Brew (www.signaturebrew.co.uk), the multi-award-winning brewery known for their forward-thinking collaborations with musicians have now won a national award for their bold and rebellious collaboration project with TATE – Riot Grrrl.

Riot Grrrl took home the award for Best Individual Design last week at the SIBA Business Awards 2024. The beer and its artwork, co-created by artist Steve Beech, was inspired by the trailblazing women and art at the forefront of the feminist punk movement of the 70s and 80s. The beer is a 4.8% Hazy Pale that the brewery believes is one of their finest, delivering huge juicy flavours whilst remaining indignantly drinkable. When Riot Grrrl was released in November 2023 it sold out immediately, which prompted the brewery to produce additional batches to keep up with demand.

The brewery collaborated with TATE to create a beer that was the perfect accompaniment to their “Women In Revolt” exhibition. The exhibition is the first of its kind, a wide-ranging exploration of feminist art by over 100 female artists working in the UK. It shines a spotlight on how networks of women used radical ideas and rebellious methods to make an invaluable contribution to British culture. The ‘Women in Revolt: Art and Activism in the UK 1970-1990” exhibit concludes its four month run at TATE Britain on April 7th 2024.

Signature Brew Co-Founder Sam McGregor said “It was an honour to work alongside such an iconic group of artists, that played such an important part in our culture especially when we look back at the impact it had on the music of that time as well. Well done to all those involved in making this such an incredible project.”

To celebrate the incredible success of the beer and the exhibition, Signature Brew and TATE will host two events which will provide a final chance to taste Riot Grrrl and see “Women in Revolt”. Firstly Tate Britain will host “Late at Tate” on Friday 5th April, featuring an evening viewing of the exhibition with Signature Brew serving up their award winning  beers all-night long. https://www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-britain/late-at-tate-britain

Finally, Signature Brew will be taking over the TATE Britain’s beautiful Corner Bar as a fringe event to London’s biggest craft beer festival Brew LDN on Friday 26th April. The event will feature live DJs, the last ever chance to try Riot Grrrl and of course a whole host of other incredible Signature Brew beers.
