Join Let’s Beer for fun beer tastings

Nottingham-based beer event team, Let’s Beer, is launching its Spring and Summer 2024 programme of innovative, beer tastings.

Beer lovers of all experience levels are invited to join Let’s Beer to build their beer confidence at these fun and engaging events. You’ll enjoy a selection of carefully curated beers, usually paired with tasty small plates or snacks, and come away knowing a lot more about particular beer styles or the beer culture of a different country. After a Let’s Beer event you’ll also be more confident in choosing the right beer for you!

Lucy, co-founder and Certified Cicerone at Let’s Beer, said: “Our mission is to build everyone’s beer confidence by sharing our knowledge and enthusiasm in fun and engaging ways.

“In our Spring and Summer events, we’ll be taking a deep dive into the world of German lager styles and also exploring the Japanese and US craft beer scenes – which may not be as well known. With this kind of Let’s Beer event people can learn about the myriad of different beer styles, beer cultures and delve into beer history, irrespective of their level of prior knowledge. There’s something for everyone.”

Notes to editors:

Let’s Beer offers innovative, beer-themed events and educational experiences across Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands.

From tutored tastings, speciality beers sessions and ‘Off Flavour’ training, to beer and food pairing events, Let’s Beer is a unique partnership encouraging everyone to build beer confidence. They also have a talent for gathering beer enthusiasts together for informal socials or planning beer-themed bespoke parties.

Run by Certified Cicerones (like a wine sommelier but for beer), Lucy Simons and Alex Downham, Let’s Beer was established in 2022. As well as organising and hosting their own events, they also work with local venues to encourage beer education and are the driving force behind the annual homebrew competition “Hop Idol”.

During the Covid 19 lockdown, the pair turned a long-standing passion for beer into an opportunity to get practical training for their palettes with Virtual Beer School. Self-confessed beer geeks, they are so enthusiastic about all things beer that they took exams in it and are now on a mission to share their successful side project with anyone who is partial to a brew.
