British Guild of Beer Writers celebrates its 25th birthday with Odyssey

SA-BrainsThe latest beer from the Brains Craft Brewery has been brewed to celebrate the 25th birthday of the British Guild of Beer Writers.

Odyssey (4.1% ABV) has been brewed with the finest British ingredients including a new malting barley variety called Odyssey. In addition to Odyssey, Amber malt and Admiral and Boadicea hops were used in the brew. The result is a beer golden in colour with sweet, dry and biscuit flavours from the malt and a fresh, sappy bitterness with aromas of summer berries from the hops.

The British Guild of Beer Writers celebrates its 25th birthday with the highest membership ever of over 220 members. Members of the Guild include journalists, authors, producers, photographers, illustrators and PR executives. Brains have a long-standing relationship with the Guild having been a Corporate Member for many years as well as being one of the main sponsors of the Guild’s Annual Awards dinner.

Most of the Brains Craft Brewery’s collaboration beers have been brewed with Guild members including Chairman Tim Hampson, Honorary Secretary Adrian Tierney-Jones and Beer Writer of the Year Pete Brown.
The Guild’s members will celebrate this prestigious birthday with an event at The Parcel Yard, Kings Cross on Monday 12th August. Odyssey, along with other celebratory beers from other breweries, will be available for all guests to enjoy.

Odyssey will also be available in Brains Craft Brewery pubs in August.
