ABOUT US
The British Guild of Beer Writers was formed in 1988 to help spread the word about beers, brewing and pubs, and our website is dedicated to exactly that pursuit.

In it, you will find listed the cream of the country’s beer and cider experts in the media – be they journalists, authors, producers, photographers, illustrators or PR people. Somewhere in these pages, you will find a beer or cider professional who can answer any questions you have, produce any articles you need, take any photos you require and generally inform you about any and all aspects of this popular and extraordinary product.

Supporters of the Guild include producers, pub companies, and many suppliers associated with the trade. They, too, are listed in our industry partner page.

Beer and cider are subjects extraordinarily well served by its affiliated journalists, in whatever media they operate. The quality of writing of beer and cider journalists and the broad social canvas upon which they sketch are remarkable.

The Guild’s hope is that the public is given every opportunity to learn first hand from its members – and that the public can read, listen and view as frequently as possible how beer and cider is flourishing in Britain today.

Although the British Guild of Beer Writers is unable to comment on individual issues or events, our Code of Conduct makes it clear that we remain steadfastly opposed to all discrimination, bullying or aggression on the grounds of age, sex, gender, race, colour, creed, legal status, disability, marital status, or sexual orientation. We aim to foster a welcoming atmosphere for all at Guild events, and abuse or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.
